Mercedes-Benz has released two teaser shots of its all-new CLS Coupe prior to it expected launch at the LA motor show in December.

Like the previous two generations of CLS, the four-door coupe is based on the similarly-sized E-Class but with a lower roofline and "more assertive styling". The third-generation Mercedes CLS, which is will debut at the LA motor show between 1-10 December 2017, will compete with the all-new Audi A7 and BMW's 6 Series Gran Coupe. The two shots released by the Stuttgart-based carmaker include a frontal shot revealing the car's nose and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The second teaser shot shows the CLS's interior, appearing to be extremely similar to that of the E-class saloon it is inspired by.

Previous spy shots of of the latest Mercedes CLS test mules indicate that this latest iteration of the luxury coupe largely takes inspiration from the first generation CLS, with its smoother surfaces which are being seen increasingly throughout Mercedes' model range.

The first of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS are expected to reach customers in Spring 2018.
