2020 Mercedes

The 2020 Mercedes AMG GT4 is on its way. First previewed as a concept car in a March show, development is now in an advanced stage, and the super sleek sedan is teasingly close to release. Photos of the new car shows that the production version is very close in resemblance to the concept car. The expected name of the model is the GT4, and it is pencilled to be released to the marketplace in 2018, which indicates that will almost certainly be sold as a 2019 model.

The hybrid version of this 4-door sports vehicle is to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow. The Witney Motorshow is a locally based show that attracts a fair amount of interest and enjoys a successful status, anyone attending will be able to discuss upcoming motor industry with Dowleys, who will be attending and have a great interest in Mercedes cars of all types.

After the test drive of the vehicle revealed spy shots, it can be seen that the design is very similar to the GT sports car, the differences being more angular trapezoidal headlights and a shortened bonnet. It is also possible that AMG will be strengthening the architecture to accommodate the extra pair of doors, while weight reduction will also be on the agenda for the design team and engineers.

Under the bonnet, AMG will be placing the 4.0 litre twin turbocharged V-8 that is found in many other models, which can produce more than 500 horse power. AMG are aiming to give the vehicle an impressive 0-62mph time of just three seconds, highlighting the performance potential of the AMG GT4. Still in speculation is what AMG will name the car, this year being the 50th anniversary of AMG there is a chance that the car will have a historic moniker, but rumours seem to indicate GT4 and GT C4 are the most likely options.
